Rueschhoff describes his family background and early life growing up on a farm in Nebraska. He discusses his service in World War II, conversion from Catholicism to Mormonism, and entry into higher education. He focuses on his experience teaching in the accounting department at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, describing problems with departmental administration and the faculty merit and evaluation policies.
